At registration you will be issued with numbers, a swim hat, a numbered bag and a whistle. Numbers must be clearly visible on the back for the bike section and on the front for the run section. Number belts may be used. 2 stickers with numbers on will be provided for your bike and helmet. The swim hat must be worn to ensure swimmers are easily visible to safety crews. The numbered bag is provided for competitors to leave in transition 1 for any gear to be transported to the finish. After the swim competitors must also place their wetsuits etc. in the bag failure to do so may result in the loss of your wetsuit! The whistle must be carried on the bike and run sections of the course to alert marshals of competitors requiring medical assistance (repeated blasts of the whistle) We will perform random checks at the finish to ensure competitors have carried the whistle and competitors failing to do so will be disqualified.
On race day competitors must place running gear in Transition 2 at the peg relating to their number then ride or get a lift to the start area at Leaplish, taking all the gear needed for the bike and swim with them. Parking is limited at Leaplish and we request that competitors do not park there. At Leaplish, transition 1, bikes should be racked on the numbered racking and bike gear placed next to the bike. Warm up kit and anything needed to be transported to the finish must be placed in the numbered bag provided.
Before the race we will count swimmers into the water to ensure the same number leave the water. The start will be in deep water at the buoys indicated.
In T1 after the swim do not forget to put wet-suit in numbered bag.
The bike course will be marked with blue arrows, tape and marshals, the run route with red arrows, tape and marshals please familiarize yourselves with the maps.
A bottle exchange will be provided on the bike and 2 water stations will be provided on the run. Please ensure you start with a full bottle.
At T2 after the bike section bikes will be taken from competitors at entrance to transition and stored in a secure area for collection after the race. Please bring your race number to collect your bike/wetsuit (T1 bag) or you will have to prove it`s yours.
To ensure that we protect the English countryside any competitor seen discarding gel/bar wrappers or bike bottles will be disqualified. Bottle throw areas will be provided before and after aid stations, USE THEM.
Take care of yourselves and other competitors.
Have a great race.
