HAMSTERLEY FOREST Mountain Bike Duathlon

The Hamsterley route is half of the
existing black route returning on the orange walk and a short
section on the forest drive. The bike will be 2 laps of approximately
9k. The run is the Yellow walk. The runs are both one 4k lap.
The route has been shortened from the 2009 race route by reducing
the bike by 1 lap and only doing 1 lap of the second run.
Although the mountain bike trail is
designated as black it presents no greater difficulty than the
red routes used in previous races. The most difficult technical
parts of the course are due to large roots across the trails.
This route was used as a cross country mountain bike race course
for several years before becoming
the marked trail.
Camping will be available at the Woodcraft
Hamsterley Forest Outdoor Centre which we will be taking over
for the weekend.
