Afan Forest (South Wales) Triathlon
Dear Athletes
I was contacted by Glyn Neath Lakes at 1800hrs today (30/07).
They have informed me that they have been ordered by the land
owners to cease all operations at the lakes. They could offer
no explanation for this.
I have been looking at the possibility of running a duathlon as
a substitute but can not put the necessary risk assessments, toilet
facilities (we could not even use the land around the lakes) etc
in place in time.
I hope you will accept my apologies for this.
We will try to re-schedule the race for September. If you require
a transfer to Dearne Valley event or a refund please e-mail me.
We will be offering a chance to ride the course meeting at 1100hrs
on Sunday at the Dragon downhill car park off the B4242 look out
for the event parking sign if you are already at the venue.
Please accept my sincere apologies.

This new event will be based at Glyn
Neath Lakes (Resolven) in South Wales consisting of most of the
bike course from the 2007 Xterra UK event without the split transitions.
The swim venue provides some of the clearest water you are ever
likely to swim in. Set in this stunning location the bike course
provides a great mixture of hard climbing, fast technical descending,
single track and forest roads.
The run will be on the other side
of the valley next to the infamous Dragon downhill course.
Camping is available at the race HQ
at Glyn Neath Lakes there is no need to book.
We have also booked the nearby Dulwich
College Field Centre at Heol Callwen, Glyntawe for our marshals
on Friday, Saturday and Sunday and we have spare bunk/dormitory
type accomodation there for £15 per night e-mail
me for availabilty.
We have wetsuits available to hire

size for avialbility and we take teams . (1 person to do each
leg)
